Gaming | Chess Tournament

All ages and skill levels are welcome at this chess tournament! Because instruction will not be provided, knowing how to play chess is a minimum requirement. Space is limited, so entering the tournament will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The tournament will be conducted in the “Swiss” format. This basically means that everyone will play three rounds, and we will pair everyone with someone else from their age range to the best of our ability. • Time control: In each round, each player will have ten minutes of clock time with three seconds added per move in the “Fischer” timing method
• Writing moves are not required.
• There is no touch-move rule at this tournament; you can touch a piece and choose not to move it.
• In the event that there are an odd number of players, a bye will be granted to a random player in the first round, then to the player with the fewest points in the second and third.
• Parents and children can compete as a pair should they desire
