What are service dogs and how do they help people? Join us as we celebrate National Therapy Animal Day. Learn from Victors Dolive and his service dog, Logan, as they teach us all about the amazing work that service dogs provide to people with disabilities to help them to live fuller and more independent lives.
Service dogs are highly trained animals that live with and assist a person with a disability, which may or may not be apparent to others.
Service dogs come in all shapes and sizes and are trained for a wide variety of jobs, ranging from assisting the hearing or vision impaired to those with limited mobility.
This program will teach you all about the work that service dogs do to help people with disabilities to live fully. You will learn how to respect the work that service dogs do, how to behave when you are around them, while also learning to differentiate service dogs from therapy or emotional support animals.
