This CosMania session focuses on learning how to start planning your cosplay project. Advice on sourcing materials, planning a timeline, and translating a character design to a real-life, wearable costume will be discussed.

There are a multitude of skills which go into cosplay and if you are just starting out or just want to know how people craft these elaborate cosplays look no further. We will be covering all the different aspects that go into cosplay whether that be sewing, 3d printing, coding, etc. 

No matter what your interest is there is a place in cosplay for you so join us and see how you can bring your hobbies into cosplay.


Cosmania is a celebration of all things cosplay, hosted by the Gwinnett County Public Library! Newcomers to cosplay are encouraged to attend these special sessions to learn about the different aspects of creating cosplays from scratch. On August 8th we will be hosting a cosplay contest for participants to show off their creations! With guidance from our Learning Labs specialists, patrons of all ages (13+) can come develop their cosplay skills in a fun, collaborative environment.
