Award-winning author Rhonda McKnight discusses her newest novel, "Writer in Residence," a bookish small-town romance with Southern charm, faith, history, and the power of legacy.

Alexandra Chambers is a writer who has run out of words. Struggling with writer's block and the pressure to secure a new book deal, she wins a week in a writer-friendly cabin through a drawing held at a Lowcountry literacy center. What she finds is far more than she expected--a vibrant community brimming with inspiration, a past steeped in history and culture, and a man who both intrigues and unsettles her.

Rhonda McKnight is the author of 27 books. She is the winner of the 2015 Emma Award for Inspirational Romance of the Year for her title, Unbreak My Heart. She has been nominated thrice for the African American Literary Award. She writes inspirational book club fiction and Christian romance stories to touch the hearts of women with the themes of faith, forgiveness, and hope. Originally from a small coastal town in New Jersey, she writes from the comfort of her South Carolina home.

Moderator Unoma Nwankwor writes sweet contemporary multicultural romances set across Africa and the African Diaspora. Her stories are rooted in faith, family, and rich African culture. With every book, she promises readers humor, tight hugs, forehead kisses, and above all else—redemptive, sacrificial love. Her writing blends the beauty of spiritual truth with the complexities of modern love, offering heartwarming stories that celebrate culture, connection, and hope.
