This program explores the historical and cultural significance of UGA Athletics. Share reflections on favorite athletes and learn about the importance of preserving the rich history of Georgia athletics and the ways generations of families have been connected through their shared love of the University of Georgia and Georgia athletics.
Athletics history is about more than games and championships; it is about the people, traditions, and the connections that unite the University of Georgia community across generations.

Jason Hasty is the Athletics History Specialist at the University of Georgia’s Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, where he curates and manages archival collections documenting the history of UGA athletics.
In this role, he preserves and interprets artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from the Georgia Bulldogs’ athletic past; develops exhibits; and leads public tours and educational programs that bring the stories of UGA athletes and coaches to life.
Hasty also organizes traveling exhibits that share UGA’s athletic heritage with communities across Georgia and teaches classes on the university’s sports history, helping connect fans, students, alumni, and the broader public with the rich traditions of Bulldog athletics. A proud graduate of the University of Georgia, Hasty has worked with the UGA Libraries for more than 20 years.
