Did you know that watermelon is 92% water? No wonder it's so refreshing! Join us as we celebrate the watermelon by discussing its nutritional benefits, then get to taste a slice yourself!
Watermelon, scientifically known as Citrullus lanatus, is a refreshing, juicy fruit that many know and love. Not just delicious, when eaten in moderation it offers many potential health benefits including hydration, heart health, and skin support, and it’s also a good source of vitamins A, B6, and C. The water and vitamins in watermelon can help keep skin soft, smooth, and supple; boost collagen production; improve skin elasticity, repair skin cells and breakouts. Watermelon also contains a small amount of fiber that aids in digestion. After a brief discussion of the many benefits of watermelon, small slices will be offered to those in attendance.
