Come learn about molecular polarity and how it affects liquids in our world, and make your own lava lamp science experiment to show what you learned!
We will be explaining the science behind why some liquids separate and some blend together when mixed. Participants will make their own “lava lamps” using oil and water, then adding alka seltzer to create bubbles and visually represent how oil and water refuse to mix. We will also be covering the library resource Explora, and demonstrating how we can use it to learn more about scientific topics from trusted sources.
