Collins Hill Meeting RoomInterested in learning more about your family history but unsure where to begin? What stories are waiting to be discovered? Join us for an interactive workshop that introduces the powerful genealogy databases and research tools available through the library.
Attendees will learn practical search strategies, tips for organizing findings, and ways to uncover your family’s story using resources you can access for free with your library card. Whether you’re curious about your heritage or ready to dive deeper into research, this session will give you the skills and confidence to begin exploring your roots.
Bringing your own laptop is encouraged, but the Library will have some available during the workshop.

Tamika Strong is an archivist at the Georgia Archives. She serves as the Technology Director of the Georgia Genealogical Society and is on the Board of the Georgia Archives Institute. She has presented workshops at various institutions, including Emory University, the DeKalb History Center, and the Digital Library of Georgia. She leads a monthly genealogy discussion group and is active in several genealogy organizations. Strong graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies. She received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master of Archival Studies at Clayton State University.
