Education | IDD: Open Your World Book Club
Tuesday, June 16
3:15pm - 4:30pm
Open Your World Online Book Clubs are for readers and aspiring readers to continue building their literacy skills by reading and discussing stories together. These books are provided by the library and encourage participants to come into the library to check out the physical copies to read along. We use adapted novels and short stories. In June, we will begin reading "The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells.
Open Your World Book Club supports the literacy skills that adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities need to be their best selves and attain their greatest goals. Join us as we read novels and stories with content that interests adult readers, adapted into a format that is easily understood. These books are provided by the library and encourage participants to come into the library to check out the physical copies to read along. In June, we will begin reading The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells. “A scientist finds a secret way to become invisible, but he loses his temper when he can’t go back to being visible, and he starts causing trouble in a little village. What will happen when the townspeople finally discover the invisible man's dangerous plan?”
