What would you do if a decorated horse skull appeared at your door and challenged you to a poetry battle? Join us to learn more about this fascinating Welsh new years tradition called Mari Lwyd.

One new year tradition you may not know about is Mari Lwyd (pronounced Marie Loyd), a Welsh tradition where a horse skull is mounted on a stick and carried door to door, challenging families to a poetry battle in Welsh. Join us at the Grayson branch to learn more about Welsh traditions and language, and make your own Mari Lwyd.
