Open Your World Book Club members read books together and build on literacy skills in this program designed for adults and older teens with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Join us for this program reading Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. The fiction book is about an orphan who arrives in Avonlea, Canada to meet her new adoptive family.
This book is about overcoming and surviving life experiences - and showcases the courage it takes to live. Hope, imagination, and tenacity are all character traits of the protagonist, Anne, who struggles to reconcile her vivid imagination and romantic notions with the rigid expectations of traditional Avonlea society at the end of the Victorian era.
During each 6-week-long Book Club program, registrants join together to read, listen, and discuss one book per session.
Registration is required, but drop-ins will be welcomed.
