We will share the culture and history of Independence day in August for three countries: India, South Korea and Jamaica.
Becoming an Independent country from the colonization of other countries is very significant and important to practice the real meaning of freedom. As we cover the history of three countries on how they became independent and how they celebrate the independence day will be shared.
India:
You will have a chance to see how India is versatile in terms of languages, classical and folk dances. People in different states have their own folk dances and songs which they perform on special occasions. Also on this day we sing our National Anthem to show our Nation’s pride.
South Korea:
You will have a chance to wear S. Korean traditional clothings (called ‘Hanbok’) to experience how they were living their daily lives in the old days. Today, the traditional clothing is usually worn during special holidays.
Jamaica:
You will have a chance to learn about how Jamaicans make traditional cuisine to celebrate independence day.
