Storytimes promote the early literacy skills that help children become ready to read with stories, games, and songs!

Stories help children learn about themselves and others and are designed to support reading readiness.

Picture books are filled with a rich vocabulary that develops a child's oral language skills, and reading helps with critical life skills, such as sustaining focus and attention, impulse control, and developing social & emotional skills like empathy that are important as they enter kindergarten.
