Suwanee Meeting RoomLearn about healthy lifestyle changes and healthy recipes to cook. This program will have Korean translation available.
These nutritional program series will help participants enhance knowledge and facilitate healthy behavior change across the lifespan. Through cooking demonstrations, we will show participants how to increase vegetables, whole grains, and fruits to focus on the impact of chronic disease-preventive lifestyle behaviors. Korean translation will be available.
- Wednesday, October 9 - The Importance of Hydration: It is important to drink water and stay hydrated in and out of the sun. During this interactive presentation, we will discuss the different types of fluid sources, water needs by age, how to monitor hydration status, and rethinking your drinks. You will also participate in the preparation of flavored waters.
- Wednesday, November 13 - Creating Pantry Meals and Using Leftovers: There are three steps for the process of meal planning. During this presentation, you will learn about these simple steps and how to choose easy and healthy recipes. By the end of the presentation, you should be confident in your abilities to meal prep for yourself or your family! You will participate in the preparation of a healthy meal in minutes.
- Wednesday, December 11 - How Much Protein You Really Need: Why is protein important for our bodies? How much protein do I need? What are the best sources and why? The answers to these questions and many more related to protein intake will be discussed during this class. You will participate in the preparation of a high protein recipe.
Registration is recommended.
