Designed for school-age children from 6-10 years old, Reading Buddies allows children to practice their oral reading skills one-on-one by reading out loud to a grown up! Perfect for helping students keep up with or increase their reading abilities.

Reading Buddies are our grown-up volunteers at the library who are trained in Active Reading and will be paired with each child. Working with a Reading Buddy shows a model of what good oral reading skills look like, and promotes reading fluency and listening skills for children, all while having fun reading their favorite stories! Each child will have a reading log to write down their goals and track their progress.
