Save time and stress by joining high school seniors and parents for practical tips on jump-starting the Common App personal statement (as well as the shorter supplemental essays required by many colleges).
It's not too late to write a college essay that only you can write. How can you showcase your unique achievements, intellect, and attributes to stand out from the crowd?
Essay Coach, Michelle Hiskey, will share examples of outstanding essays by her local Atlanta students that are published in Writing Tools for the College Admissions Essay: Write Your Way into the School of Your Dreams. This essential book includes Michelle's coaching process for parents, teachers, or anyone who supports high school students aiming for college.
Most high school students have never received any instruction in how to write a personal essay. Yet at a time when getting admitted to their dream college is more competitive than ever, the admissions essay may turn out to be the single most important thing they will ever write. The stakes are high, and that's why Gwinnett County Public Library is offering this program.
To allow time for specific feedback on each student's essay topic or essay draft, this session is limited to 15 students. Bring your Common App personal statement, topic, or related writing, and leave with confidence about submitting an essay only you can write.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
