Literacy | Reading Buddies

Learn and practice reading skills one-on-one with a librarian or volunteer Reading Buddy! Reading aloud to a buddy helps build confidence, increase fluency, and understanding. Designed for children in grades 1 - 5.

 Reading Buddies are our grown up volunteers trained in Active Reading who are paired with each child to model good oral reading skills, promote reading fluency, and enhance listening skills, all while having fun reading their favorite stories! Each child will be paired with a buddy to read books at their level and will have a reading log to write down their goals and track their progress. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
