Alma Woodsey Thomas was an artist who loved colors and space. Join us to learn about her life and work, then create your own painting using her techniques!
Alma Woodsey Thomas loved nature and was curious about outer space and painted them both in bright beautiful colors. Thomas was the first African American woman to have a solo exhibition at New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art, and she exhibited her paintings at the White House three times. She did not become a famous artist until 80 years old.
