Collins Hill Meeting RoomGet ready to rock! Participants will melt crayons to explore how Earth makes igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. This colorful lab helps kids see how heat, pressure, and cooling change rocks over time.
Get ready to rock! In this hands-on, eye-popping lab, participants will use melted crayons to model how Earth forms igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. As crayons are shaved, layered, pressed, heated, and cooled, kids can see and feel how rocks change over time, just like they do deep inside our planet. The bright colors make rock layers, crystals, and changes easy to spot, turning abstract geology concepts into concrete, memorable ideas.
