Thursday, June 18
3:00pm - 4:00pm
Learn about our awesome decomposer friend, the worm, and its importance in soil ecosystems. You will learn the science of soil, refuse decomposition, and the importance of recycling. You will also build a "worm hotel" to take home!
We will explain how vermicomposting (worms) mixed with soil, food scraps, and sand works to create optimal soil for our plants to grow. We will explain the basic science of how materials decompose and how worms accelerate & improve the process to add more nutrients to the soil.
